Team Leader - General Residential Program
Permanent full-time position
Marymead’s General Residential Program is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified professional to lead and supervise a team of caseworkers and direct care staff. The program provides a therapeutic medium to long term residential care for young people (10-17 years of age) with high needs and challenging behaviours.
Interested applicants should have formal qualifications in social work, psychology or a related discipline, and an extensive experience in staff supervision and working with families and children/young people in out of home care. Excellent interpersonal skills, capacity to work flexible hours and participation in the after hours on-call roster are required.
Salary range: $59,361 – $66,190 depending on experience and qualifications. Generous employment conditions available, including salary packaging that increases the salary by approximately 7K. The position includes a fully maintained vehicle at a highly subsidised rate. Police and departmental database clearance is a requirement of this position.

Direct Care Workers
Part-time and Casual Positions
Marymead Disability Support (MDS) is seeking mature, committed and energetic people with an interest in intensive support work with young people with disabilities. Positions are available in a number of programs, including respite, residential care, day education, after school care and school holiday programs.
Above award rates plus penalties for shift work apply. Applicants need experience and/or qualifications relevant to working with children and young people high needs and challenging behaviours. Formal qualifications will be highly regarded but are not essential.

Working at Marymead
Marymead is set in large, pleasant grounds in
Narrabundah, approximately 9 km from the City Centre, 6 km from Woden,
not far from Queanbeyan and very close to Manuka and Kingston. Parking is free and buses go to the City and to Woden.
We have a staff of approximately 155 people working
full-time, part-time and casually. Staff work in a variety of
roles: many provide direct care in residential programs mainly based at
Marymead; some work with clients in the clients’ homes; some
staff have a case management role or are group leaders; we have skilled
admin and maintenance staff who enable our services to operate smoothly.
As Marymead enjoys Public Benevolent Institution status
staff are able to salary sacrifice a tax free allowance of $16050 per
annum under current legislation.

Each month there is a staff lunch or morning tea and all opportunities to bring staff together are used.
Marymead is part of Canberra’s community and

many and made possible by volunteers and service organisations.

get a direct understanding of what would be involved. Some staff
work across more than one program, and staff sometimes transfer from
one program to another to broaden their perspective and gain new skills.
