Bequests

Your Will, a caring legacy

Your Will

Everyone needs a Will. It is your way of showing how you care – and ensures that your assets are distributed according to your wishes.

When you make your Will, you have the opportunity to enhance the lives of disadvantaged children, young people and families with a legacy through Marymead.

Reviewing your Will

Because of changes to your assets, it’s a good idea to update your Will every few years. We advise that this be done in consultation with a solicitor.

List all of your assets, taking care that you nominate gifts for particular people, if you wish, and allocate a proportion of your assets to each of your loved ones.

Once you’ve done that, give some thought to those who may not have the same bright future as your family and friends.

How do I leave a bequest to Marymead?

There are a number of ways to leave a bequest to Marymead.

You may wish to leave a percentage of your assets, or a lump sum. Remember though, the value of a lump sum will diminish in time, whereas your assets will increase.

If you have already made a bequest to Marymead, are considering it, or if you would just like more information please give us a call on 1800 427 920 or send us an email at marketing@marymead.org.au

We will then place your name on our ‘Bequest Register’, acknowledging your interest in leaving a bequest to Marymead.

At the same time you are also able to nominate a particular Program within Marymead where you would prefer your bequest be allocated. Alternatively you can leave that decision up to Marymead and we will allocate your bequest to where it’s needed most at the time.

Marymead’s programs and services include:

o Accommodation Services
o Coordination and Support Services
o Counselling and Education Services
o Disability Support Services
o Foster Care

Wording your bequest

To make a bequest, simply insert the following wording (or similar) into your Will. Speak to your solicitor or contact Marymead if you have any further questions.

Workplace Giving

Small change can equal big Change, with Workplace Giving…

What is Workplace Giving?

While we all might like to help out by volunteering or fundraising, balancing work and family often leaves us with little time to spare. Workplace Giving provides you with an easy and practical way to support Marymead and make a difference to the lives of less fortunate children and families in the local community.

Workplace Giving is a voluntary program where donations are deducted directly from your gross salary each pay period. You also get the benefit of giving pre-tax, making each dollar go further, whilst receiving an immediate tax deduction without the need to keep receipts for tax purposes. This means that the cost for an employee on a 39.5 per cent tax rate, pledging a $10 weekly charitable donation is only $6.05.
