Reunion

November
A gathering for past Marymead residents, clients, foster children, foster parents and staff to share, reunite, heal and commemorate our history of relationships. If you are interested in attending this event, please contact Marymead on programs@marymead.org.au . Invitations will be posted out in August/September.
For more
information on any of these events, please contact Marymead on 6162
5800 or programs@marymead.org.au.
Through your support, Marymead Child and Family Centre hope to raise
at least $300,000 in 2007 to fund a new wing for our expanding Early
Childhood
programs for young Canberra
children at risk.
These programs will focus
on getting in early in the lives of disadvantaged young children before
problems and traumas become entrenched. Research conclusively shows
that intervening
early allows vulnerable children to have the brightest possible future.
For
every dollar invested in the early years, our community saves $17 later
on in
health, welfare and reform costs. Not to mention the difference made in
the
life of the child!
Marymead has identified a
critical gap in Canberra
services helping young children at risk and so has taken the initiative
to
provide innovative new programs that can change a young
child’s life and
direction.
Sadly, as child abuse
reports rise, Marymead’s current buildings are filled toDecember 12, 2007rvices the community
needs.
