Pip NorthamCoordination & Support Services Unit Manager
Since joining Marymead in 2016 I have been afforded wonderful opportunities to engage with the Marymead and broader Canberra community, extend my knowledge of the sector and to work alongside some inspirational, passionate and experienced staff. Being new to Canberra two years ago, I quickly felt at home at Marymead. My young children also love Marymead and we cannot go past the wonderful Marymead Fete run by the Auxillary, we have quite the Marymead plant collection at home!
I started my Marymead career as a Clinical Outreach Worker in the New Horizons Program and later went on to become the service coordinator for the program. In my new role as Unit Manager for Coordination and Supports, I am excited to work alongside a new and equally committed staff group, across a number of programs including Intake, Family Support and Referral Service, Supported and Supervised Contact Program, and NDIS Supports Coordination. This diverse group of programs lends itself to my desire to continue learning, take on new challenges and to collaborate across the organisation and sector. I look forward to building on the existing programs and extending our quality service delivery.
My career in the community sector began in the UK in 2003 and since then I have remained passionate about working alongside individuals, families and communities to achieve positive and lasting outcomes.
I have worked across NSW, Victoria and the ACT in a variety of roles within the disability, homelessness, aged care and mental health sector. I am a qualified Occupational Therapist, with a number of years of clinical practice within community and mental health settings.
