Thomas Wright Institute (TWI)
The Thomas Wright Institute, an initiative of Marymead, is not-for-profit and wholly self funded through fee-for-service. TWI was established by the Marymead Board in 1999 to provide specialist psychological services focused on young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
Over the past ten years, TWI has developed a range of services for young people, families, and programs with a mix of direct therapy, consultation, university teaching and research, and training and support and development for programs. Particular areas of interest have been the prevention and management of crisis, connecting with adult wary young people, understanding and addressing the effects of relationship trauma on child and adolescent development, understanding and supporting behavioural change, issues around inclusion, autism spectrum disorders, and working with young people with problematic sexual behaviours.
TWI has an ongoing commitment to auspicing visits to Australia from leading practitioners in these areas and to contributing to the debate around service delivery. TWI provides services across Australia.
