Horizons

About This Program

Horizons is a family support program for families and children who are experiencing difficulties due to the mental ill health of a family member. The program supports families and children through home visiting and by providing counseling support to family members.

How We Work / Who Can Use This Program

The program is strongly linked to the Marymead Counselling Centre with some parents and children receiving services including the Circle of Security Family Early Intervention and Wellbeing Promotion Program.

The staff of the program work very collaboratively with other service providers. The families often have complex needs and require assistance from a range of services. Some families require long term support due to the nature of mental illness but evidence from the evaluation suggests that families are more resilient and have greater capacity to manage crises.
