About this program
The program supports children affected by disabilities and their
families.
Who we work with
The Kids' Companions Program provides social opportunities and short periods of respite care for children affected by a disability – either of their own or disability of a family member. Short periods of respite of even a few hours, are a great way to provide a family with a break from the routine care of children.
If you want to use the program
Parents may contact us directly or be referred by workers from
other support services.
Ways you can help...
Volunteers are needed for group and individual activities.
The children and young people receive the respite from volunteers, either in the
volunteer's home, or in a community or group setting. Can you provide
small time-slots for a child to share your social and recreation
activities?
You can support the work of Marymead by asking to be put on our
mailing list, which will keep you informed about our activities,
including fundraising and volunteering.
