Assisting Responsible Care for Kids (ARCK)

Marymead's ARCK Program supports and assists separated parents who are in high conflict over post-separation parenting of their children. ARCK focuses on reducing conflict between parents and assists them in maintaining a positive relationship with their children and a working relationship with the other parent.

ARCK is for separated parents and their children who are experiencing:

  • High levels of ongoing conflict
  • Difficulties in communicating with the other parent
  • Concerns regarding their child's wellbeing
  • Concerns regarding trust and safety
  • Involvement with the Family Court or Magistrates Court

Separation and divorce are increasingly common in Australia. Some conflict within the family is normal both before and, for a short period, after separation. However, in some cases this conflict may continue. In this case parents may need some help to establish a new parenting partnership which supports the best interest of the children.

ARCK complements Marymead's Kids and Youth Are Kool post Separation (KAYAKS) a program for children and young people whose parents are separated or divorced parents.

ARCK provides:

  1. Counselling for one or both parents
  2. 'Talking With Your Kids' seminars for parents
  3. 'Keeping Kids in Mind' group programs
  4. Child Inclusive Practice

ARCK provides some ARCK services at Moruya and Goulburn.
