Mental Health Counselling for Children & Young People

New horizons

We provide mental health counselling to help your child stay connected to others, explore their life choices, increase capacity and coping strategies, improve wellbeing and support them in strengthening their relationships with their family, friends and loved ones.

We offer government subsidised outreach mental health counselling as well as tailored in-centre fee for service mental health counselling.

Subsidised outreach mental health counselling

This is a clinical outreach program with a primary focus on children and young people, however we also work holistically to support the family by providing information, referrals, advocacy and counselling where needed.

We provide flexible support delivery as our sessions can be offered both in-centre at our office in Narrabundah, or at a place that is convenient to you such as your child's school or home. Support can be provided both individually or in groups within schools. Individual counselling is delivered over 6–12 months.

Please note this service has a longer waiting list than fee for service mental health counselling.

Tailored fee for service mental health counselling

If you are unable to wait for government subsidised mental health support, we are able to provide tailored, individual fee for service mental health counselling. This support is delivered in-centre at our Narrabundah or Moruya offices or via telehealth if preferred.

Sessions are either 30 or 50 minutes, with the frequency of sessions up to the individual.

Our mental health counselling aims to:

  • Assist with mental health concerns
  • Help you navigate key life transitions
  • Promote positive self-care
  • Assist in repairing relationship breakdowns in your family unit
  • Increase family resilience, support and coping strategies
  • Increase your ability to better manage different aspects of your life.
