I started my career in Early Education and Intervention, spending close to 17 years working with children and families across various settings, both in Australia and the UK. My passion had always been for working with children with additional needs. So when I relocated from Sydney to Wagga Wagga in 2007, I found my desire to make a difference in vulnerable children and families lives led me to embark on a career in social work/social welfare.
I began my career in Wagga in Early Intervention and moved through Foster Care Support, recruitment and assessment- finally finding my passion in out of home care (PSP). I spent four years working with parents of children in out of home care, and incarcerated parents, before moving into the Funded Service Provider space as the Manager of Family Restoration and Permanency. This role moulded my passion, and I realised that I needed to be in an area where I could make a significant difference in children’s lives- including getting them out of the ‘’system’’ and back to the family or into guardianship or adoptive placement. Marymead offered me the opportunity to do this in my role, and I feel truly fulfilled.
I hold a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE), a Post Graduate Diploma in Developmental Trauma, and am a certified Parents Under Pressure trainer and clinical supervisor. I am also trained in a range of accredited parenting programs and am embarking on my Masters of Leadership (Social and Ecological Change) as of February 2022.
I am excited by all the opportunities that lie ahead.
